So I was a bit nervous about trick-or-treating this year. Being in a new neighborhood, we weren't sure how much people around here get into it...uh, yeah--we officially live in Halloween CRAZY TOWN!!!
They spare no expense and go all out! From FULL sized candy bars (how can we compete with that?) to haunted houses (it was seriously SOO scary. From dead corpses to a man being electrocuted. Where do people come up with these things)!
There was even a guy that conjured up a fishing line thing-a-ma-jigger that had the candy bowl attached to it and a bat that flapped as he lifted it up and down from his balcony above.
And best of all...we didn't have to wear snow suits under our costumes! :)
The kids went to a few Halloween parties and a local pumpkin patch. Besides picking their own pumpkins, they also had a hay ride, corn maze, petting zoo and they even got to pick some veggies.
One of the funnest things was going to Disneyland for Mickey's trick-or-treat.
This was great! I think Dwight and I were the only ones not dressed up! EVERYONE there had on a costume and there was fun Halloween music and dancing everywhere. The kids rode some rides, but we spent most of our time gathering more candy than we will EVER be able to eat at all the "treat stations".
We seriously came home and filled TWO big popcorn bowls full of candy. I shouldn't admit this, but we actually used it as the candy that we handed out at the door on Halloween. It was really good stuff, though not full sized candy bars--wah,wah,wah,wahhh. Still, we didn't even get rid of HALF the candy and now we're stuck with 3 HUGE, UNTOUCHED candy bags from Costco and now 4 bowls of candy!
I've been working with a personal trainer here and I think all the progress I've been making (he KICKS my butt) is going down the drain --I've got to get rid of all this candy! ANY SUGGESTIONS???
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

First off, Dwight cut his hair?!!!
The kids look so cute. I swear I am going to stop reading your blog because I get so jealous everytime I read it! I want to live in CA!
Oh yea, a personal trainer?!! I haven't been to the gym in 5 months! Geez.
Wow, you're very observant--was it all that gray showing that gave it away? It's been great here, but we definitely miss everyone in Utah! Speaking of Utah...we'll be there from Dec.21-Jan.6. Let's get dinner or something planned!
I haven't been going to the gym either and with as often as we are eating out here I need some serious help!
Melanie, you rule! As long as you're admitting using your Mickey candy to pass out, I'll admit that half of my "bowl" that I gave away to those lucky trick-or-treaters was candy from Roman's trunk-or-treat bucket. Kj and Mel, we need to get together soon cuz you two make me laugh!
M, your kids are adorable! But where are your costumes?
yeah, I've really been slacking here. It's a good thing you didn't see any pictures inside my house...you'd be asking me where all my Halloween decorations are. I think this is the FIRST Halloween that I haven't put any decorations up. I am seriously the laziest person I know right now! I'm glad you came clean about your "bowl" candy, I feel much better--don't you feel better too?
So let's get a date to get together planned!!! What works for you???
Mel and Dwight you sure did produce a very handsome pirate and beautiful wench's! LOL
Looks like you are still enjoying California. Jealous? VERY MUCH!
Your kids are too cute for words, seriously! Looks perfect there in Cali...hopefully next year we will be there!
Katie, don't feel bad about giving away your candy. This is the FIRST year I haven't done that! We were always gone, so I would give it to the first kids that came and then shut my lights off. Way to waste $30 right?!!
Lets definately do lunch/dinner/both! I can't wait to have you guys here! Screw the family. Just hang out with us!
Oh yea, tell D I LOVE the salt and pepper! I have always been a fan. I was just shocked he wasn't doing the long do anymore.
We're open at this point...so let's pick a date so I can make sure we don't have any conflicts.
right now we're open too. We will be there from Dec.22-Jan.6...any ideas???
We could talk or not talk...
Something with husbands and something without. Something with kids and something without. All things must include food. Ok, you guys figure out the rest.
I think we should do BOTH. Kids optional...
LOVE the pirate costumes. So cute! Hey thanks for the card for Lys. She looked at it and said "bears!" and gave them kisses. It was quite funny.
While you're finalizing your big plans for when y'all come back for Christmas, try to pencil in some family time for us will ya? ;)
