TOO MUCH CANDY CAN BE A GOOD THING...

By the time Halloween came along this year we were already candied OUT! We had our friends the Bailey's come visit last week and while they were here we did Mickey's trick-or-treat at California Adventure with them. The kids came home and filled 3 huge bowls full of candy! I learned my lesson when we did this last year and didn't buy a single bag of candy this year. Yep, given this candy away come Halloween!

One of my favorite Halloween activities in Utah was taking the kids to Dwight's work for trick-or-treating. Luckily, they do it at his office here too and the kids took home another load of candy! Between this, a trunk-or-treat and 3 other Halloween parties, by the time trick-or-treating came around we were ready to be done!

But what's Halloween without trick-or-treating? So we made our way around our street and went through the Haunted house at the end of the cul-de-sac before we all passed out from sugar highs.

How is it that I don't buy a single bag of candy, use the candy we hoard before Halloween to give out to the trick-or-treaters and STILL come out with even MORE candy at the end of the night?
Luckily, I found a dentist in town that pays good money for this stuff ($1.00 per pound) When we took our candy to the dentist he had already collected 800 lbs. of candy (he sends it to the troops in Iraq).
So this year, I didn't even spend a dime on candy, came out $18.00 ahead and helped feed a soldier (I use the word "feed" very, very loosely :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN :)

The kids look great in their costumes! The twins are growing a ton. They don't look like babies anymore. Jealous of you and Bailey's going to Mickey's Halloween Treat. Where's the pics of that?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That is so awesome. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that you made some cash from all that.

Katie, I totally forgot to pull my camera out once we were inside! Lame, I know. Too busy gnawing on turkey legs.

I too am not surprised you came out ahead with the candy - - - I don't know if I could give up my candy, though. I'm as bad as the kids.
So just to let you know - I have 3 favorite pics from your slide show. 1 - the lady 'worked to the bone' at her desk - how clever!. 2 - the one with the twins hugging in your house hallway (so sweet) and 3. Dwight and you cheering like you mean it picture. Wow. Again, no words for those. Just sad I missed it again! I think he should get a perm - -it is hot!!

The twins look so cute. Stila kept telling me they were going to be Tinkerbell. That is a LOT of candy. Stila got a ton, and we didn't really get Alexa any, so I can imagine how much FOUR kids got!!

Hi Melanie. Sorry, I didn't see your comment on my blog until today so I missed girls night. It would have been perfect too because I spent last night on the couch instead of going to the gym or out to eat. No visitors yet. I work during the day so maybe I'm missing people if they are coming by. Your kids are gorgeous by the way. Your oldest daughter...all I can say is your husband better get the shotgun out when the boys come knocking on your door. She is beautiful! I look forward to meeting you in person. Do your kids go to Oso Grande, Ladera or Chaparral? Addison goes to Oso.

Ok you and Harmony are definitely tied for first place for the worst bloggers ever!!!!!! You live the furthest away and should update the most so we could know what's going on in your lives! New rule, if you are more than 30 miles out of Farmington Utah you have to post once a week, no exceptions.
